Today's featured wedding is all about a timeless style.....beauty and personality! There is something so beautifully simple about this wedding. The canvas itself…the gorgeous landscape, the lake, the home, and of course, the amazing details designed by the talented team at Simply Chic Events, Erica & Sherika. The details are oh-so-chic, oh-so-sophisticated and over-the-top elegant! Every detail is thoughtfully executed, every element designed to compliment the whole. Sherika & Danyell's (wedding) Vow Renewal on October 4, 2008 in Slidell, LA was so incredibly chic, in that really classic, understated way! The event took place in the backyard of her cousin's beautiful home, which provided the perfect backdrop for the occasion. The perfect little details are simply icing on the cake! We love the, understated details of the day and the intimate feeling of having just close friends and family. We wanted to share some amazing images with you, as they are sure to inspire...
location! location! location!
As guests arrived, this rustic beauty was located in the front yard, seemingly antique and yet completely timeless. It was used for guests to sign the guestbook, grab a match & sparkler for the recessional and a program for the order of service. It set the tone for what to look forward to as guests moved from the welcome lawn to the ceremony!
The back of the home was surrounded by a sparkling blue pool lined with torches & floating candles, garden chairs & round tables with white linen, palm trees, a high peak white tent....and a spectacular view of the lake. All anchored this beautiful home! To soften the columns of the patio.....we hung custom ivory drapes with black sashes to carry out the color scheme! All guests looked fabulous as they entered the ceremony in their lovely black dresses & suits!
The chandeliers were gorgeous! One hung on the patio and the other from the center of the tent....below it was a beautiful large arrangement with vibrant colors on an antique stand! The floral arrangements had a mixture of roses, hydrangeas, bells of ireland, orchids, tulips, etc. It was simply beautiful! This is where the vow renewal took place. Along with a family member who officiated the ceremony, and their flower girls stood next to the couple under the tent as they vowed their love to one another (once again) as family & close friends witnessed!
This memory table honored the couple's family members that passed away. It was covered in floor length black linen, white tea lights, & votive candles. The candles glowed & sparkled all night against the beautiful black & white photos! It was so touching!!!
As the ceremony began, the musicians played So Amazing by Luther Vandross and several songs throughout by Kenny G. The musicians were great! Tony Dagradi & The Astral Project of New Orleans, LA......
BOLD COLORED PETALS LINED THE AISLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When the officiant asked for the rings, their mothers presented them to the couple.....so sweet!!!!!!!!
Preceding the ring exchange, Sherika & Danyell released live butterflies in memory of the bride's maternal grandmother! Simply beautiful!!!!!!!!!!
The bride's cousin, Ernest "Tony" Fields song acapella, The Lord's Prayer, during the ceremony. Ernest Fields, soloist, of Natchez, MS......has a voice that is touched by God! Beautifully sung...
As the couple & their adorable flower girls made their way back down the aisle, the guests lit sparklers during the recessional!

The fabulously simple and tasty cake was created by Zoe's Bakery of Covington, LA............A+ for them!
As the night fell, family & friends released hot air balloons before dinner.......................................... SPECTACULAR!!!!!!!!!
Family of the couple, E & T's Bar-B-Que Heaven, a full service restaurant & catering service in Natchez, MS, provided the innovative menu, quality food preparation & service for the dinner & cocktail hour following the ceremony! The food was GREAT!
